Spirit Creek is the headwaters of Irwin Creek, a tributary to the Laguna de Santa Rosa. From its wellspring to where it goes into an underground culvert at JX Wilson Elementary School,
Spirit Creek is approximately one mile long. The wellspring of Spirit Creek is located near the corner of Stony Point Road and Highway 12 in Santa Rosa, California. Due to diversions engineered near the wellspring, Spirit Creek is mostly an ephemeral creek.
The Laguna de Santa Rosa is a fourteen mile (22.5 km) long wetland complex that drains a 254-square mile (658-square kilometer) watershedencompassing most of the Santa Rosa Plain in Sonoma County, California, USA. It is considered the South Fork of the Russian River.
The Spirit Creek Stewardship, a ministry of The Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, was founded in September 2007 by Michelle Manger Keip. Besides regularly tending Spirit Creek, members of the Spirit Creek Stewardship vision, research and take action for the restoration.
