The Spirit Creek Stewardship was founded in September 2007 by Michelle Manger Keip. Besides regularly tending Spirit Creek, members of the Spirit Creek Stewardship vision, research and take action for the restoration.

Effective December 2008, Spirit Creek Stewardship activities are in collaboration with the following: Renew America usaservice.org, Creek Stewardship Program of the Sonoma County Water Agency and the City of Santa Rosa, Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation, Green Sangha, UC Cooperative Extension, STRAW (Bay Institute), Envirichment, Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, J.X. Wilson Elementary School, Holmes Institute of Consciousness Studies and Wellspring Aikido Arts.
